ASRY’s Graving Dock can accommodate vessels of up to 500,000 deadweight tonnes (DWT).
It is equipped with four dockside access arms, two on each side, which provide full reach to the hull for maintenance tasks, particularly surface preparation such as blasting and painting.
Two cranes are mounted on each side of the dock, with lifting capacities of 100 tonnes and 15 tonnes, respectively.
The dock is also capable of handling multiple vessels at once, depending on their size and layout.

ASRY’s twin slipways, each with a dry berth length of 255 metres are ideal for accommodating offshore service boats, large tugs and supply vessels.
Their vertical curve design also facilitates new building activities at its upper end. Vessels up to approximately 15,000 dwt, and with drafts up to 4.5 meters can be easily slipped up under normal daily tidal conditions. The slipways are equipped with all required shore facilities and are serviced by two 80-tonne crawler cranes with ample reach.

Sewage Treatment Plant
Completed in 2012, ASRY’s sewage-treatment facility is Bahrain’s first to combine a reed-bed system with a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR). It treats up to 1,500 m³ of wastewater each day. After passing through the biofilm stage, residual sludge irrigates dedicated reed beds that absorb the remaining nutrients. The process uses no chemicals, runs quietly, gives off no odour, demands little upkeep and leaves nothing for landfill.
Marine Sludge Treatment Plant
ASRY is the region’s first shipyard to recover sludge discharged by crude-oil tankers. A monitored programme of bioremediation converts the waste into about 2,000 tonnes of compost each year, which is subsequently used in landscaping around the yard.
Grit Treatment Plant
To deliver clean surfaces before coating, the yard operates a high-capacity plant that grades and conditions fresh grit for both internal and external blasting work.
At ASRY we understand that Owners and their representatives need to have constant access to corporate amenities in order to continue to operate effectively away from base.
Therefore, ASRY provides dedicated offices for owners and representatives, which includes full-service offices, telephone and internet connections, stationary requirements, conference rooms, and pantries. Everything that is required to have fully functioning office away from the office.
To reinforce ASRY’s reputation as one of the region’s most crew-friendly destinations, a dedicated Seafarers’ Centre has been established within the yard.
The Centre is open to all crew members of vessels currently in the yard and offers a welcoming space equipped with recreational amenities such as table tennis, darts, and other leisure activities. A light snack bar is also available, creating a relaxed and comfortable environment for international seafarers during their time at ASRY.
